Attard regained sole leadership in the BOV Amateur League I as they defeated San Gwann 3-0 in a match at the Sirens Stadium on Sunday.
Precious Uchechukwu Nwankwo put then ahead on 17 minutes. Gordon Saliba doubled the score eight minutes in the second half and Nwankwo sealed the issue with a third goal two minutes from time.
Lija Athletic moved fourth thanks to a 2-0 win over Senglea Athletic at the Sirens Stadium thanks to goals by Amir Ashamed on 66 minutes and Ross McParland on the 90th.
In another match at the Sirens Stadium, a goal by Clyde Bouvet seven minutes in added time handed Zejtun Corinthians a narrow win over Mellieha.
On the other hand, Xghajra Tornados staged a brilliant comeback as they defeated Pembroke Athleta 4-2 at the Luxol Stadium. An own goal on 37 minutes put Pembroke ahead and Andy Borg doubled the score on 48 minutes. Shaban Chikh Ali reduced the gap five minutes later. Cedric Zahra scored again for Xghajra on 73 minutes with Chikh Ali making it 3-2. Richmond Hanson Baratuipre sealed the issue with a fourth goal one minute in added time.
Attard lead the way with 21 points, followed by Qrendi and Qormi on 18, Lija 17, Victoria, Mqabba and San Gwann 16, Zejtun 13, Pembroke and Mellieha 11, Xghajra 10, Kirkop 9, Luqa 7 and Senglea 4.
