Attard regained a three-point lead on top the BOV Amateur League I as they defeated Pembroke Athleta 2-1 at the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday.
Precious Uchechukwu Nwankwo put Attard ahead three minutes from the end of the first half and Nicholas Schembri doubled the score on 71 minutes. Kyle Sciberras Balbi reduced the gap eleven minutes from time.
In another match, Qormi beat Luqa St. Andrew’s 4-0 thanks to a brace by Innocent John Awori on 22 and 24 minutes, Ayrton Azzopardi on 50 minutes and Cadu seven minutes from time.
Attard lead the way with 24 points, followed by Qormi on 21, Mqabba on 19, Qrendi 18, Lija 17, Victoria and San Gwann 16, Zejtun 13, Pembroke and Mellieha 11, Xghajra 10, Kirkop 9, Luqa 7 and Senglea 4.
