Hamrun Spartans defeated Tarxien Rainbows 2-1 in a match from the YoHealth Malta Premier Closing Round League Phase at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.
In this clash between the team which won the Opening Round and the team which ended at the bottom of the table, the Rainbows gave their opponents a hard time and never stopped fighting.
Hamrun managed to take the lead one minute from the end of the first half through Matthew Guillaumier who was making his return for the Spartans after a two-year spell in Poland and six months in Greece.
Jonny Robert doubled the score on 72 minutes but five minutes later, Anthony Abidemi Lokosa pulled one back for Tarxien.
