Attard regained a three point lead in the BOV Amateur League I as they defeated Qrendi 3-1 at the Sirens Stadium on Sunday.
Following a goalless first half, Precious Uchechukwu Nwankwo put Attard ahead on 64 minutes. Staline Degabriele doubled the score on 71 minutes and although Godwin Emmanuel reduced the gap on 88 minutes, Nwankwo scored again on 93 minutes.
Goals by Loic Essomba Tsoungui on 23 minutes and Thomas Grech on 64 minutes handed Luqa St. Andrew’s a 2-0 win over Senglea Athletic at the Sirens Stadium.
On the other hand, Lija Athletic defeated Pembroke Athleta 4-1 at the Centenary Stadium thanks to a penalty by Ross McParland on 4 minutes, goals by Omar Khatib on 26 minutes, McParland on 33 minutes and Paul Odunayo Aderibigbe on 70 minutes. Jake Parnis had scored for Pembroke on 35 minutes.
Attard lead the way with 27 points, followed by Qormi on 24, Mqabba on 22, Lija 20, Victoria 19, Qrendi 18, San Gwann 17, Zejtun 13, Pembroke, Xghajra and Mellieha 11, Luqa 10, Kirkop 9 and Senglea 4.
