The Maroons, therefore, join Floriana with maximum points from two matches while Birkirkara drop their first points after the win over Hibernians in their first match.
Following a goalless first half, the Stripes had Fran Lopez sent off on 70 minutes and two minutes later, Johan Bonilla put Gzira ahead.
Three minutes in added time, substitute Stasa Bastic, who was making his debut for Darren Abdilla’s side doubled the score to seal the issue.
