Kalkara United moved eight points clear on top the BOV Amateur League II as they defeated Gharghur 3-0 at the Sirens Stadium on Sunday.
Mario Jude Dominicus put Kalkara ahead on 14 minutes and Ryan Dalli doubled the score on 34 minutes. Miguel Perez Jimenez made it 3-0 on 80 minutes.
Goals by Andie Sammut on 37 minutes and Ronaldinho Daley on 67 minutes enabled Dingli Swallows to beat Marsaskala 2-0at the Sirens Stadium and move second.
Msida St. Joseph were held in a 1-1 draw by Mdina Knights at the Charles Abela Stadium. Kurt Zammit converted a penalty to put Msida ahead on 40 minutes but Jordan Vella equalised for Mdina on 78 minutes.
St. George’s registered a fine 3-0 win over Rabat Ajax at the Sirens Stadium. Aaron Agius converted a penalty on 18 minutes. Jaden Camilleri doubled the score on 23 minutes and an own goal seven minutes from the end of the first half extended the lead further.
At the Charles Abela Stadium, Ta’ Xbiex defeated Siggiewi 2-0 thanks to goals by Andrei Spiteri on 15 minutes and Victor Hugo Alves on 32 minutes.
Santa Venera Lightnings defeated Ghaxaq 2-1 in another match at the Charles Abela Stadium. Shamisen Buhagiar put Ghaxaq ahead on 4 minutes but Ayrton Buhagiar equalised on 35 minutes and Desire Koiba notched the winner o 63 minutes.
Kalkara lead the way with 36 points, followed by Dingli on 28, Msida 27, Ta’ Xbiex 24, Mdina 20, Rabat 19, Siggiewi 17, St. George’s 15, Marsaskala and Gharghur 9, Ghaxaq 8 and Sta. Venera 6.
