Gzira United dropped their first points in the YoHealth Malta Premier Closing Round league phase following a goalless draw with Hamrun Spartans at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Tuesday.
The Maroons move one point ahead of Floriana, who have a game in hand, maintaining a two-point lead ahead of the Spartans for whom this was the second draw in three matches.
Gzira created the better chances in the opening minutes with Maxuel Samurai having a goal-bound effort cleared off the goal line by Emerson Marcelina. Hamrun reacted well but goalkeeper Edoardo Colombo kept them at bay.
