Hamrun Spartans moved top in the YoHealth Malta Premier Closing Round after defeating Naxxar Lions 4-0 at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.
The Spartans scored two in each half to move one point ahead of Floriana, Gzira, Hibernians and Marsaxlokk. Floriana and Gzira, however, have a game in hand as they face each other on Sunday morning. Naxxar, on the other hand, suffer a third defeat in five matches.
Joseph Mbong opened the score on 25 minutes and doubled the score on 41 minutes.
Substitute Damir Ceter extended the lead one minute in the second half and went on to add another on 69 minutes.
