A crucial week for futsal in Malta as the men’s competitions have entered their decisive phase, while in the women’s league the teams qualifying for the play-offs have now been confirmed.
In the women’s championship, Zero Sei Futsal recorded yet another victory, defeating St. George’s Futsal 6–2 to continue their impressive run. Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus took full advantage of this result, claiming a convincing 7–0 win over Parr Mela Rockets Futsal to move up into second place, with Rodianne Borg stealing the spotlight after scoring four goals.
Meanwhile, Swieqi United Futsal LEC07 secured the final available play-off spot after overcoming direct rivals St. Andrew’s Futsal 2–0, with Krista Montfort netting both goals for the winning side.
With just one match remaining in the first phase, Zero Sei Futsal lead the standings on 25 points, followed by Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus on 19 points and St. George’s Futsal on 17. Swieqi United Futsal LEC07 sit in fourth place, while Parr Mela Rockets Futsal and St. Andrew’s Futsal complete the table.
In the men’s Challenger Futsal League, two Midweek Challenge matches were played. Santa Venera Lightnings Futsal registered a win against Futsal Selection U17, while Futsal Selection U19 earned an important 7–4 victory, maintaining their position at the top of the standings.
The table now sees Futsal Selection U19 leading on 9 points, ahead of Santa Venera Lightnings Futsal with 7 points. Sliema Futsal Fort Fitness are third, while Futsal Selection U17 remain in fourth place.
In the Premier Futsal League, the top two teams were in action and both emerged victorious. Luxol St. Andrew’s Futsal produced a dominant 9–1 win over Zejtun Corinthians Futsal WA to strengthen their grip on first place. University of Malta Futsal kept pace with a solid 3–1 victory against Marsaskala Futsal Legends.
The Premier League standings now show Luxol St. Andrew’s Futsal leading with 27 points, followed closely by University of Malta Futsal on 24 points. Marsaskala Futsal Legends, GŻR Birżebbuġa St. Peter’s Futsal, and Zejtun Corinthians Futsal WA follow behind.
