Valletta handed Gzira United a second successive defeat as they beat them 2-0 in a match from the YoHealth Malta Premier Closing Round league phase at the National Stadium on Friday.
This win puts the Citizens temporarily in second place, one point ahead of the Maroons.
Ahmed Adebayo put Valletta ahead five minutes from the end of the first half and Andrea Zammit doubled the score three minutes in the second half.
