Sliema Wanderers registered a narrow win over Valletta in a match from the YoHealth Malta Premier Closing Round league phase at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.
The Wanderers extend their positive run to five matches to join Valletta in fifth place. The Citizens, on the other hand, suffer a second defeat in four matches during which they earned just four points.
Mohamed Awad scored the all-important goal nine minutes in the second half.
