Zabbar St. Patrick hit three past Birkirkara

After earning prestigious points in draws with Hamrun Spartans and Valletta, Zabbar St. Patrick registered a fine 3-0 win over Birkirkara in a match from the YoHealth Malta Premier Closing Round league phase at the National Stadium on Saturday.

For Zabbar coach Gilbert Agius, this was the third positive result since taking over from Aniello Parisi. The Saints move third from bottom, one point ahead of Tarxien Rainbows and four ahead of Mosta.

Birkirkara, on the other hand, suffer their first defeat since the arrival of Paul Zammit as coach after they dropped four points in their last two matches in draws with Mosta and Sliema Wanderers in their last two outings.

Zabbar managed to take the lead on 38 minutes thanks to Pedro Cejas. Twelve minutes in the second half, Brian Gambarte doubled the score.

Birkirkara had Alessandro Coppola sent off on 59 minutes and Pedro Cejas added another goal on 62 minutes.
