BOV Amateur League II: Kalkara United move ten points clear

Kalkara United moved another important step towards promotion as they defeated Dingli Swallows 2-0 at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday.  

Ryan Dalli scored twice for Kalkara on 5 and 70 minutes.

Msida St. Joseph moved back in second place as they beat Ghaxaq 5-0 in another match at the Centenary Stadium. Matthew Schembri handed the Saints a two-goal lead with goals on 12 and 22 minutes and an own goal extended the lead on 24 minutes. Schembri scored again three minutes in the second half and Taiwo David Akindele added another on 90 minutes.

A goal by Nathan Belhadj on 37 minutes handed Ta’ Xbiex a narrow win over Sta. Venera Lightnings at the Sirens Stadium.

Mdina Knights defeated Gharghur 3-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium thanks to goals by Ivan Bojovic on 13 minutes, Giovanni Galea on 64 minutes and Nichail Muscat five minutes from time. 

Siggiewi beat Rabat Ajax 4-2 at the Sirens Stadium. Victor Ifeanyi Mbata put Rabat ahead on 18 minutes but Siggiewi turned the score in their favour thanks to goals by Michael Sciberras on 28 minutes and Jason Camilleri just before the end of the first half. Jamie Camilleri equalised for Rabat on 58 minutes but Mark Camilleri made it 3-2 on 64 minutes and Roderick Taliana 4-2 on 85 minutes. 

On the other hand, in another match at the Charles Abela Stadium, a goal by Byron Madu on 4 minutes handed Marsakala a narrow win over St. George’s.

Kalkara lead the way with 43 points, followed by Msida on 33, Dingli and Ta’ Xbiex 31, Mdina 29, Siggiewi 23, Rabat 22, St. George’s 18, Marsaskala 12, Ghaxaq 11, Gharghur 10 and Sta. Venera 7.
