Men’s Final – 5:00pm, Luxol St Andrews Futsal Club vs University of Malta Futsal
In the men’s final, Luxol St Andrews Futsal Club and University of Malta Futsal will meet for the fourth consecutive Super Cup final. This rivalry has continued to grow over the years and once again promises a contest full of intensity and high technical quality.
Meanwhile a new development in Maltese futsal will be the introduction of Futsal Video Support for match officials, giving respective coaches the opportunity to request one review per half. A few days ago, a theoretical session was delivered by the President of the Futsal Malta Association, Mark Borg, and the Head of Referees of the Malta Football Association, Alan Mario Sant. During this session, the importance of technology in the modern futsal game was emphasised, as well as how video support can help strengthen fairness and professionalism.
The session concluded with a visit to the new National Football Centre, where those present had the opportunity to see first-hand the modern facilities that will be used for the development of the game in Malta. During the practical sessions, referees and coaches were able to see the technology in action through a mock-up camera setup simulating real match situations, helping them better understand how the system works and how it can be applied during official competitions.
