Leaders Attard and second-placed Victoria Hotspurs registered wins in matches from the BOV Amateur League I on Sunday.
Attard defeated Xghajra Tornados 4-1 at the Centenary Stadium. Staline Degabriele put Attard ahead on 33 minutes and Lesley Cassar Jackson doubled the score before the end of the first half. Shaban Chikh Ali reduced the gap three minutes from time. However Precious Uchechukwu Nwankwo scored twice on 88 and 91 minutes to seal the issue.
In another match at the Centenary Stadium, Victoria Hotpsurs beat Qrendi 4-1. Kurt Borg put the Hotspurs ahead on 31 minutes and Christian Saint Ebisindor doubled the score on 59 minutes. Ten minutes later, Rondinely extended the lead and although Gianfranco Micallef pulled one back ten minutes from time, Ebisindor added another five minutes in added time.
Qormi came back from two goals down to beat Lija Athletic 4-2 at the Sirens Stadium.
Omar Khatib put Lija ahead on 10 minutes and Lyvann Obissa doubled the score ten minutes later. David Emmanuel Garba reduced the gap thanks to a penalty on 26 minutes and Dale Mifsud equalised on 40 minutes. Innocent John Awori put Qormi ahead for the first time on 58 minutes and Jayden Zac Borg sealed the issue with another goal seven minutes in added time.
At the Luxol Stadium, Mqabba scored twice in added time to turn defeat into victory as they beat Luqa St. Andrew’s 3-2. Luka Mijic put Mqabba ahead on 30 minutes but Bledi Alla equalised on 70 minutes and Andreas Psaila handed Luqa the lead five minutes later. However, Jeremy Delmar equalised on 92 minutes and one minute later, Andres Tenorio made it 3-2 for Mqabba.
In another match at the Sirens Stadium, Senglea Athletic defeated Mellieha 2-1. Johan Castano put Senglea ahead on 39 minutes and although David Azzopardi equalised on 63 minutes, Castano notched the winner on 73 minutes.
San Gwann and Kirkop United shared the spoils in 1-1 draw at the Luxol Stadium. Adam Falzon put San Gwann ahead just before the end of the first half but Dale Tabone equalised five minutes from time.
In another match at the Sirens Stadium, Pembroke Athleta defeated Zejtun Corinthians 2-1. Malcolm Vella Vidal put Pembroke ahead after just one minute. Jamie Mifsud equalised on 85 minutes but Weverton restored the lead for Pembroke on 92 minutes.
Attard lead the way with 43 points, followed by Victoria on 41, Qormi 37, Lija 36, Mqabba 33, Qrendi 24, San Gwann 23, Pembroke 21, Zejtun and Senglea 19, Xghajra 18, Kirkop and Mellieha 15 and Luqa 14.
