Balzan regained a three-point lead on top the BOV Challenge League as they defeated Fgura United 2-1 in a match from the Top 8 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Tuesday.
Oluwatobiloba Dimeji Awosanya converted a penalty after just seven minutes and Jake Portelli doubled the score one minute from the end of the first half. Sergio Mosquera pulled one back for Fgura four minutes in added time.
Balzan lead the way with 41 points, followed by Birzebbuga on 38, Swieqi on 36, Melita 35, Sirens 32, Fgura 28, Pieta’ 27 and St. Andrews 26.
