Leaders Attard moved seven points clear in the BOV Amateur League I as they defeated Luqa St. Andrew’s 4-1 at the Sirens Stadium on Sunday.
Tejumola Ebenezer Ayorinde put Attard ahead on 4 minutes. Precious Uchechukwu Nwankwodoubled the score on 14 minutes and two minutes later, Paul Galea Testaferrata made it 3-0. Bledi Alla reduced the gap two minutes from the end of the first half but Ayorinde scored a fourth goal twelve minutes from time.
Victoria Hotspurs were beaten 1-3 by Kirkop United at the Centenary Stadium. Christian Saint Ebisindor handed Victoria the lead on the half hour but Jordan Edward Brett equalised on 66 minutes. Miguel Zammit put Kirkop ahead on 77 minutes and Neil Buttigieg sealed the issue with a goal six minutes in added time.
Qormi registered a 4-0 win over Senglea Athletic at the Luxol Stadium thanks to a goal by Jayden Zac Borg on 6 minutes, two Neil Tabone penalties on 27 minutes and 55 minutes and a goal by David Emmanuel Garba on 79 minutes.
Lija Athletic defeated Xghajra Tornados 3-0 at the Sirens Stadium thanks to a brace by Lyvann Obissa on 18 and 74 minutes and Amir Ashamed on 80 minutes.
Goals by Andres Tenorio on 35 minutes and Luka Mijic in added time handed Mqabba a 2-0 win over Pembroke Athleta at the Sirens Stadium.
Qrendi and Zejtun Corinthians shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Centenary Stadium, goals by Joseph Jojo Ogunnupe on 56 minutes for Qrendi and Jamie Mifsud for Zejtun on 62 minutes while a goal by Ryan Muscat on 59 minutes handed San Gwann a narrow win over Mellieha at the Luxol Stadium.
Attard lead the way with 49 points, followed by Victoria on 42, Qormi 40, Lija 39, Mqabba 37, San Gwann 27, Qrendi 25, Kirkop, Zejtun and Pembroke 21, Senglea 20, Xghajra 19, Mellieha 18 and Luqa 17.
