Macri announces final squad ahead of UEFA Under-17 Championship qualifiers

Malta Under-17 National Team Coach Francesco Macri has announced a 20-player final squad for the upcoming 2025/26 UEFA European Championship Qualifying – Round 2 matches.

Malta will be taking on Bulgaria, Lithuania and Azerbaijan in Group B2 over the coming days. The matches will take place in Bulgaria.

The first match will see Malta face Lithuania on Tuesday 24th March at the Football Complex – Nikola Shterev in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, kicking off at 10:00hrs. Following that, Malta will have a clash against Bulgaria on Friday 27th March, with kick-off at 14:00hrs at the Hristo Botev Stadium, also in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The final match will see Malta take on Azerbaijan on Monday 30th March at 12:00hrs, returning to the Football Complex – Nikola Shterev.

The final call-up sees Macri trim the squad from 30 players to 20, as the team gears up for three testing matches as they seek to compete for promotion to League A.
