Regini names final squad ahead of UEFA Under-19 Championship qualifiers

Malta Under-19 National Team Coach Vasco Regini has announced a 20-player final squad for the upcoming UEFA European U19 Championship Qualifying – Round 1 matches.

Malta was drawn in Group B4, joined by Norway, Albania and Luxembourg, with the matches set to take place in Albania.

The opening match will see Malta take on Norway on Wednesday 25th March, kicking off at 12:00hrs at the Niko Dovana Stadium in Durres, Albania. Afterwards, Malta will be taking on hosts Albania at the House of Football in Tirana, Albania on Saturday 28th March, kicking off at 15:00hrs. Malta’s final encounter will see them take on Luxembourg on Tuesday 31st March at 15:00hrs, with the match being played at the Niko Dovana Stadium.

The first round matches will determine which teams get promoted and which ones get relegated ahead of the second round that will be held in autumn 2026. The third round will be in sprin 2027, with the final tournament in summer 2027, being held in Czechia.

Regini had initially named a 28-player squad, but he has now trimmed it down to a 20-player final squad.
