The Malta national team arrived in Luxembourg on Sunday afternoon ahead of the second leg of the UEFA Nations League C/D Play-Off in programme on Tuesday at the Stade de Luxembourg, kick-off at 18:00.
Following the 0-2 defeat in the first leg, it will definitely be an uphill task for Malta to try to recover from this two goal deficit and beat Luxembourg to secure promotion to League C.
Malta defeated Luxembourg twice away from home in two friendly matches. In June 2012, a brace by Michael Mifsud handed Malta a 2-0 win at the Stade Josy Barthel while in June 2023, Kyrian Nwoko handed Malta a narrow win at the Stade de Luxembourg.
While Teddy Teuma is ruled out injured after sustaining an injury in the first leg, Joseph Mbong will be back after serving a one-match ban.
The players at the disposal of De Leo are therefore:
Goalkeepers
Henry Bonello (Ħamrun Spartans FC), Rashed Al Tumi (Sliema Wanderers FC), Matthias Debono (Naxxar Lions FC).
