The BOV Challenge League Play-Out got underway on Saturday with the first four matches.
At the Centenary Stadium, Mgarr United defeated Mtarfa 5-0. Azriel Borg put Mgarr ahead on 23 minutes and Terence Vella doubled the score ten minutes later. Four minutes from the end of the first half, Matthias Fenech made it 3-0. Terence Vella added another five minutes in the second half and Luke Farrugia scored Mgarr’s fifth on the 90th.
Goals by Gabriel Aquilina on 18 minutes, Sheldon Mackay on 49 minutes and Leonard Londe on 55 minutes handed Zurrieq a 3-0 win over Gudja at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
Goalkeeper Amara Sylla notched a stoppage-time equaliser for Marsa as they held Vittoriosa Stars in a 2-2 draw at the Centenary Stadium. Klose Azzopardi Conti put Marsa ahead on the half-hour and Kenly Scerri converted a penalty on 37 minutes to level matters. Luca Mallia made it 2-1 for Vittoriosa seven minutes from time but Sylla scored on 94 minutes to restore equilibrium.
In another match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Santa Lucia and Zebbug Rangers earned a point each in a 1-1 draw. Joseph Wllly put Zebbug ahead on 50 minutes but Jean Carlos equalised on 75 minutes.
