Lija Athletic registered an important 2-1 win over Mqabba in the BOV Amateur League I at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.
Following a goalless first half, Jeremy Busuttil put Mqabba ahead on 52 minutes but Gareth Joyce equalised on 69 minutes. Wagner notched the winner for Lija one minute in added time.
Qormi returned to winning ways as a goal by Jayden Zac Borg on 22 minutes handed them a narrow win over Xghajra Tornados at the Sirens Stadium.
Pembroke Athleta defeated Kirkop United 1-0 at the Luxol Stadium thanks to a Weverton penalty four minutes in the second half while a goal by Samuel Saldanha one minute in the second half handed Qrendi a narrow win over San Gwann at the Sirens Stadium.
Attard lead the way with 40 points, followed by Lija on 36, Qormi 34, Victoria 32, Mqabba 30, Qrendi 25, San Gwann 22, Zejtun 19, Pembroke and Xghajra 18, Senglea 16, Mellieha 15, Kirkop and Luqa 14.
