Mgarr United crowned Assikura Women’s League champions

Mgarr United were crowned champions for the first time in the Assikura Women’s League after defeating Valletta 5-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium on Saturday.

A win which puts them eleven points clear of Swieqi United.

Following a goalless first half, Yulya Carella put Mgarr ahead on 57 minutes and five minutes later, Josline N’Guessan doubled the score. N’ Guess scored again on 66 minutes and four minutes later, Valeria Villegas made it 4-0. Brenda Borg added another on 75 minutes.

On Friday, goals by Kleydiana Monteiro on 32 minutes, Stephania Farrugia on 58 minutes and Stella Francalanza on 68 minutes handed Birkirkara a 3-0 win over Hibernians at the Victor Tedesco Stadium while on Thursday, goals by Jade Flask on 5 minutes and a brace by Salamatu Abdulai on 14 and 75 minutes handed Swieqi United a 3-0 win over San Gwann at the Centenary Stadium.
