Malta was held in a 2-2 draw by Azerbaijan in the final match from Group B2 of the UFA Under-19 Championship 2026/207 Round 1 at the Nikola Shterev Startika Football Complex in Plovdiv on Monday. 

Jayden Roe put Malta ahead after just two minutes and six minutes in the second half, Kaylon Zammit doubled the score. Azerbaijan reduced the gap thanks to Ali Bashirov six minutes later and an own goal on 72 minutes restored equilibrium. 

In the previous two matches, Francesco Macri’s side lost 1-3 to Lithuania and 0-1 to Bulgaria.
