Malta beats Scotland 4-3 in FIFA Futsal World Cup qualifiers

The Malta futsal national team ended its commitments in Group A of the FIFA Futsal World Cup Preliminary Round at the Park Vendia Hallen in Hjorring, Denmark with a 4-3 win over Scotland on Saturday.

An own goal put Scotland ahead on 11 minutes but one minute later, Nathan Cope levelled matters. Kai Lawless restored the lead for Scotland on 24 minutes but Celino Alves equalised on 28 minutes. Chris Angus made it 3-2 for Scotland on 30 minutes but two goals in the final two minutes by Marwan Telisi and Maikinho gave Roberto Menichelli’s side the three points.
