Victoria Hotspurs secured a historic promotion to the Challenge League as they defeated Mqabba 2-1 in match from the BOV Amateur League at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday. 

Ferdinando Apap put the Hotspur ahead five minutes from the end of the first half and Christian Mercieca doubled the score one minute in the second half. Lucia Mijic converted a penalty for Maabba eleven minutes from time. 

Qormi, on the other hand, defeated Mellieha 5-0 at the Centenary Stadium. 

David Emmanuel Garba put Qormi three goals ahead with goals on 22, 57 and 74 minutes. Liam McKay extended the lead on 79 minutes with Garba adding another six minutes from time.
