Birzebbuga St. Peter’s signed twenty six year old Italian goalkeeper Matteo Chiesa.

A product of Chievo Verona, Chiesa joined GSD Ambrosiana when following a spell on loan with Hellas Verona, he made a permanent move. From there he was loaned to Virtus Verona, Trento, Mantova and Sporting FC in the UAE. Last February, he was transferred from Verona to ND Gorica in Slovenia.

The newly-promoted side have confirmed Edgar Degabriele as their coach and had earlier announced the signing of Yuri Messias, Shaun Dimech and Pietro Tomaselli. Alex Bruno, Miguel Azzopardi, Jacob Walker, Juan Bolanos, Zachary Cassar, Matthew Xuereb, Hubert Vella Genovese, Daniel Zerafa and goalkeeper Julian Azzopardi were confirmed while Charles Chibueke, William James England, Duvan Mosquera, Jamie Scerri, Chris Baker, Joey Reno Vella, Leo Agius, Randall Vella, Paul Lapira and goalkeeper James Pisani were not retained.
