Gzira United signed twenty nine year old Brazilian central defender João Victor de Souza Teixeira.

Joao Teixeira, who played for Mosta and then Hibernians, had played for Costa Rica, Patriotas, Tubarao, Oeste and Dourados before moving to Malta in summer 2024. After leaving the Paolites in January, he played for Brasiliense and Guarany Bage.

The Maroons have confirmed coach Darren Abdilla. They had earlier signed Antiago De Flavia, Justin Pena Serna, Kayden Pace, Nathan Joyce, Albion Pllana, Dinis Djadjo, Filip Maio, Luisinho, Francisco Saldanha and Jonathan Farias and extended the contracts of Karl Sargent and Marc Van de Bovenkamp.
