Mellieha were awarded a walk-over in the BOV National League I after Mtarfa failed to turn up for their match at the Sirens Stadium.
Newly-promoted Dingli Swallows defeated San Gwann 2-0 at the Luxol Stadium thanks to goals by Fabrizio Zammit on 45 minutes and Ronaldinho Daley two minutes in the second half.
Another newly-promoted side, Kalkara United, defeated Marsa 3-2. Following a goalless first half, Johann Bezzina put Marsa ahead on 47 minutes but Taiwo David Akindele equalised three minutes later. Matthias Bugeja restored the lead for Marsa on 57 minutes but Akindele levelled matters once again three minutes later. Miguel Perez Jimenez made it 3-2 for Kalkara three minutes from time.
Inanother match at the Sirens Stadium, Qrendi defeated Senglea Athletic 3-2. Christian Ebisindor Saint put Qrendi ahead on 10 minutes after converting a penalty. Seven minutes in the second half, Gianfranco Micallef doubled the score. A Matthew Brincat penalty on 69 minutes and a goal by Johan Alberto Castano seven minutes from time restored equilibrium but Brandon Bray made it 3-2 for Kalkara thanks to a penalty five minutes in added time.
