Head Coach Alfred Attard, alongside assistant Clint Tabone, has officially named a 30-player provisional squad as preparations get underway for the upcoming UEFA Regions’ Cup Intermediate Round.
Following the initial training phase, the coaching staff will trim the selection to a final 18-man traveling squad, set to depart for the Republic of Ireland on Friday, 30th October 2026.
The prestigious tournament brings together 35 teams representing European National Associations, divided into eight single-venue mini-tournaments. Designed primarily for regional amateur selections, the competition features national amateur teams for Malta and San Marino. Drawn in Group 8, Malta faces a challenging group stage featuring Split from Croatia, host team Munster from the Republic of Ireland, and Uzda representing Belarus.
All Group 8 matches will take place in Cork, beginning on Sunday, 1st November 2026, when Malta faces Split at Knockgriffin Park. The team then moves to the Munster FA Turners Cross Stadium on Wednesday, 4th November 2026, to play hosts Munster, before closing out their mini-tournament against Uzda back at Knockgriffin Park on Saturday, 7th November 2026.
