Robert Micallef is no longer the president of Marsaxlokk FC after the committee voted in favour of a motion of no confidence in the president during a meeting which was held on Friday.
The absolute majority of the committee members voted in favour of this motion.
Robert Micallef expressed his disappointment as he felt he was working in the interest of the club but thanked those who worked for the club and wished Marsaxlokk a bright future.
Micallef has been serving as president of Marsaxlokk FC since 2007 after taking over from Victor Sciriha who quit the club to join Valletta FC.
Marsaxlokk FC are currently ninth in the BOV Premier League with four points from six matches.
