Qormi defensive midfielder Massimo Grima and Valletta striker Terence Scerri will be part of the national squad as the team resumes training as from Monday January 4th.
Both formed part of the national team in past. Scerri was being left out of the national squad for past few months. On the other hand, Grima had not received a national team call in years. He had made his debut in 1997 and since then played eleven matches.
For two new players to join the squad, there are five who are no longer part of the national team. These are Hibernians duo Etienne Barbara and Aaron Xuereb, Ian Azzopardi and Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza of Sliema Wanderers and Cleavon Frendo of Valletta.
The players will be only the Malta-based ones. Valletta is the most represented side with eight players while Birkirkara, Hibernians and Sliema have four players each, Floriana and Qormi one, while the other player is Michael Mifsud, who is still without a club.
Training sessions will be held as follows: Mondays at 10:00; Tuesdays at 10:00 and 17:00 and Wednesdays at 10:00.
