Lija Athletic and Gzira United are joint-leaders on top the BOV Second Division but third-placed St. Andrews, who lie just one point behind them, have a game in hand.

On Saturday, St. Andrews returned to winning ways as they defeated St. Venera Lightnings 3-0. On the other hand, on Sunday, Lija Athletic were held in a goalless draw by Mellieha while Gzira United defeated Zebbug Rangers 2-0.

In other matches, Birzebbuga St. Peter’s beat Zurrieq 2-0 while at the Gozo Stadium, Gozo and Senglea Athletic shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

Birzebbuga are fourth on 21 points, Mellieha and Zebbug joint-fifth on 14, followed by Senglea on 13, Zurrieq 11, Rabat 9, St. Venera 8, Gharghur and Gozo 5.
