EURO 2012: Malta to play first game in Israel

Malta will be playing the first game from Group F of the UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying round on September 3, 2010, against Israel away from home. This was determined by a draw for the fixture schedule in four qualifying groups where the competing nations have been unable to agree a schedule between themselves. The draw was held in Tel Aviv on Thursday.

On Tuesday 7th September, Malta plays the first game at home, hosting Latvia. Another double-header will take place in October when the team led by John Buttigieg plays two games away from home – against Georgia on Friday 8 and Croatia on Tuesday 12.

Group matches resume on Saturday March 26 when Malta will host Greece. The final game for season 2010/11 is on Saturday June 4 – Greece vs Malta.

In September 2011, on Friday 2 and Tuesday 6, Malta hosts Croatia and Georgia. On Friday October 7, Malta plays Latvia away from home while the final match will be played against Israel at Ta’ Qali on Tuesday October 11.
