After their Under-8 and Under-9 teams participated in the Inter FC Academy tournament in Milan during Easter time, the Pietà Hotspurs Under-11 side participated in the 14th Italy Trophy in Riccione between the 28th June and 2nd July.
It was a beautiful experience for the boys who enjoyed playing over excellent natural turf pitches. The tournament was organised by KOMM MIT which had been established twenty-five years ago. KOMM MIT organise tournaments all over Europe including Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece and Ukraine.
Thirty teams from six countries took part for a total of ninety games. The Pietà Hotspurs side played six games – winning four and losing two – one of which against the winners of the tournament – an excellent Greek team named Akadimia Giotsa SC 4-2.
During their visit, the Pietà contingent had time for cultural tours in San Marino, Italia in Miniatura in Rimini, Bellaria and Mirabilandia.
The Pietà nursery believes in the good value of participating in such tournament abroad because they help our players improve in their football abilities, they watch other styles of football and make new friends from other countries. In fact, the Under-10, Under-13 and Under-14 teams are going to take part in the Welsh International Super Cup in Aberstwtyth, between the 24th and 31st July, organised by Team Tours Direct.
The Pietà Hotspurs Youth Nursery would like to congratulate their Under-15 team for winning the Section A league and the Under-17 team for winning the Knock-Out competition.
