Valletta take on Ruch Chorzów on Thursday

Valletta will be facing KS Ruch Chorzów in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round at the Ruch Stadion in Chorzów on Thursday, kick-off at 20:00

After holding them in a 1-1 draw in the first leg at Ta’ Qali, courtesy of a late goal by Terence Scerri, the Citizens maintain slim hopes of securing a place in the next stage. However it will be no easy task for Jesmond Zerafa’s side considering that to reach the next round, Valletta need either a win or a 2-2/3-3 draw. In case of a 1-1 draw, extra-time would be necessary.

The winner of this clash will be meeting Austrian side FK Austria Wien or NK Široki Brijeg of Bosnia-Herzegovina. Austria Vienna were held in a 2-2 draw by Široki Brijeg in the first leg. The second leg will also be played on Thursday.

Edmond Agius and Kenneth Scicluna are still ruled out for Valletta. For Ruch, Artur Sobiech will be back after serving a one-match ban.

KS Ruch Chorzów vs Valletta will be controlled by officials from Italy, namely referee Andrea De Marco, assistant referees Gianluca Cariolato and Lorenzo Manganelli and fourth official Leonardo Baracani.
