Three teams seek second win on Monday

Three teams will be aiming for a second win in the BOV Premier League as Vittoriosa Stars take on Sliema Wanderers and Qormi face Tarxien Rainbows at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Monday.

These matches were due to be played on Saturday but were postponed after the heavy rainfall rendered the pitch of the National Stadium unfit to host the two matches.

In the first game, Vittoriosa – the only team without any point from the first three matches – meet Sliema Wanderers. After losing to Birkirkara and being held in a draw by Marsaxlokk, the Blues registered their first win as they defeated Hamrun Spartans 3-1 in their last outing. Against Vittoriosa, they will be aiming for another three points which would put them in second place, on level points with Birkirkara and one behind leaders Valletta.

Vittoriosa, on the other hand, hope to collect their first points of the season after losing to Valletta, Qormi and Tarxien in their last three outings.

The Stars should be in full strength with no players injured or suspended. Sliema, on the other hand, have Alex Muscat, Steve Bezzina and Clayton Failla on the casualty list.

In the second game, Tarxien Rainbows face Qormi.

The Rainbows collected four points from the first three matches following a draw with Marsaxlokk, a defeat to Hamrun and a win over Vittoriosa. Qormi, on the other hand, defeated Vittoriosa, losing to Hamrun Spartans and Valletta.

Sergio Pacheco De Oliveira should be back for Tarxien after missing the last game while striker Daniel Mariano Bueno is expected to make his debut following the arrival of the international clearance. Qormi should also be in full strength.
