Women's EURO: Malta loses to Faroe Islands

Malta lost 0-2 to the Faroe Islands in another game from Group 2 of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2013 Preliminary Round at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.

Captain Malene Josephsen put the Nordic side ahead on 26 minutes and five minutes from time, Olga Kristina Hansen doubled the score.

In another match, Armenia and Georgia shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

Armenia now leads Group 2 with four points, followed by the Faroe Islands and Malta on 3 and Georgia on 1.

The final two matches will be played on Tuesday as Georgia meet the Faroe Islands and Malta take on Armenia. Since the two fixtures are now decisive, they will be played simultaneously, kicking-off at 14:00. Malta vs Armenia will be played at the Centenary Stadium while Georgia vs Faroe Islands will be played at the National Stadium.

In order to qualify, Malta has to beat Armenia, hoping that the Faroe Islands fail to beat Georgia in the other game.
