Balzan Youths keep marching on in the BOV First Division as they defeated Mqabba 2-1 in a clash between two teams aiming for promotion. A win which put the Youths ten points clear of second-placed Mqabba and Melita.

Renato Conceicao put Balzan ahead on 39 minutes and Pedro Calcado doubled the score on 74 minutes. Marlon Briffa scored a consolation goal for Mqabba on 75 minutes.

In another match, St. George’s suffered another setback in the race for promotion as they lost 3-2 to Pietà Hotspurs.

Zach Muscat put the Hotspurs ahead on 4 minutes. Glenn Bonello converted two penalties on 31 and 57 minutes to make it 2-1 but Zach Muscat scored again for Pietà to level matters. Quelin Refalo notched the winner on the hour.
