St. Venera Lightnings defeated Swieqi United 2-1 in their final league game from Section A of the BOV Third Division, ending their commitments on top with 49 points, three ahead of Siggiewi.

However should Siggiewi beat Marsaskala in their last game on May 1, a decider would be necessary to determine the Section Winner and hence the team which would play the Championship Decider against Section B winners Gharghur.

Meanwhile in another match, Santa Lucia and Mtarfa shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

The clash between Attard and Mdina Knights on Friday will determine the fourth place and hence the team which would play the Promotion Play-Off against the team placing fourth in Section B.
