After holdng Finland in a goalless draw on Friday, the Malta Under-21 side obtained another excellent result, coming from behind to beat Lithuania 2-1 in another game from Group 2 of the 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying round at the Siauliai Central Stadium, Siauliai on Tuesday.
Marius Miškinis put Lithuania ahead on 42 minutes but the same player was sent off for a foul on Leighton Grech inside the area on 57 minutes. The Maltese were therefore awarded a penalty which was converted by Terence Vella.
Ray Zazu Farrugia’s side notched the winner on the hour thanks to a goal by Rowen Muscat.
Four minutes from time, Karolis Chvedukas was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.
