Malta international striker Andre Schembri is attracting the interest of Italian Serie A side Chievo Verona, according to a report by Italian sport daily Corriere dello Sport.
According to the same report, Legia Warsaw of Poland and Greek sides AEK and PAOK are also interested in the Maltese striker.
After joining Ferencvaros mid-way through last season, Schembri had an excellent season with the Fradi, ending as the club’s top scorer and helping the club to finish third and secure a place in the UEFA Europa League.
Before moving to Hungary, Schembri had played for Eintracht Braunschweig and Carl Zeiss Jena in Germany and SK Austria Kärnten in Austria. He made his Premier League debut with Hibernians and then played for Marsaxlokk.
Should Andre Schembri leave Ferencvaros, he would be the second Maltese player to leave the club as goalkeeper Justin Haber rejected a new contract. Haber is reportedly attracting interest from Greece and Portugal.
