Goalkeeper Nicky Vella joined Tarxien Rainbows from Valletta. He signed a three-year deal with the Rainbows.

A product of San Gwann F.C. Youth Nursery, Nicholas Vella was born on August 27th, 1989. He joined Valletta in season 2008/09.

Vella played for the Malta Under-19 national team and also formed part of the Under-21 national team.
