Andre Schembri secures deal with Olympiakos Volos FC in the Greek Super League

Malta international player Andre Schembri signed a two-year deal with Olympiakos Volos in the Greek Super League. Andre Schembri went up to Greece on Wednesday to discuss his contract with the mentioned club and after a positive medical test the player agreed terms with the club.

The player will be making his debut with the club next week since Olympiakos Volos F.C. will be playing in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. Schembri will be back in Malta next Saturday and leaving immediately on Sunday to start training with the team on Monday morning.

Spanish coach, Javi Gracia, showed his interest in Schembri during these past few months after an impressive season with Ferencvaros in Hungary last year. Andre Schembri scored 16 goals with the said former club and helped them secure a place in the UEFA Europa League. Schembri started his career overseas with Eintracht Braunschweig (Germany) and later moved on to play for Carl Zeis Jena (Germany), Austria Karnten (Austria) and Ferencvaros (Hungary).

Andre Schembri will be playing in the same league against his former team mate Justin Haber, who signed his contract this week with Kerkyra F.C., based in Corfu.
