Under-17 side taking part in Hungarian tournament

The Malta Under-17 National team is currently in Hungary, taking part in the 31st edition of the Hungarian International Under-17 Youth Tournament between the 3rd and 6th August. Also taking part, besides host Hungary, are Slovakia and Croatia.

In their first game, Malta lost 2-1 to Hungary. Although Hungary were set to control the game, Malta took the lead on the 12th minute from a free-kick by Paolo Dandolo which was miscalculated by the Hungarian goalkeeper. Despite being reduced to ten men, in the second half, Hungary equalised on the 55th and thirteen minutes later, notched the winner.

On Thursday, Malta takes on Slovakia who lost 4-1 to Croatia on Wednesday.
