Daniel Bogdanovic joins Blackpool — Andrei Agius signs for Latina

League Championship side Blackpool FC secured the services of Malta international striker Daniel Bogdanovic from Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee. The Malta international, who has temporarily broken off from duty with his country to finalise a move, has signed a one-year deal with the option for a further year.

“I can’t wait to step on that pitch,” the 31-year-old told the club’s official website. “I’m totally focused on this adventure and I’m here to give my best to the team and to the gaffer.”

“I played against Blackpool when I was with Barnsley and I always admired the way Blackpool play football. It is a dream move for me to play in a team with a manager who loves football. It is the perfect place to be.”

“My first target is to get on that pitch and prove to everyone what I can do and thank the gaffer and the management for the trust they have shown in me.”

During his career, Boganovic played for Sliema Wanderers, Naxxar Lions, Valletta and Marsaxlokk in Malta, Vasas SC in Hungary, Cherno More and Lokomotiv Sofia in Bulgaria, Cisco Roma in Italy, Barnsley and Sheffield United in England. He had joined the Blades last summer but the club was relegated at the end of the season.

Meanwhile Malta international defender Andrei Agius joins US Latina Calcio from AS Melfi. Agius signed a one-year deal.

Latina Calcio will be playing in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione after being promoted from the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione group C after 29 years at the end of last season.

Before playing for Melfi, Andrei Agius played for Sporting Mascalucia, Martina Franca, Messina, Igea Virtus and Cassino. Agius spent the last six months on loan at Birkirkara.
