Mosta, Mqabba seek first points

Mosta and Mqabba will be hoping to collect their first points on Monday as they take on Balzan Youths and Marsaxlokk respectively at the National Stadium.

The first match in programme is a direct clash between two teams who were promoted from the BOV First Division last year.

Balzan lost to both Hamrun and Qormi but were then awarded three points by the MFA Protests Board over the Hamrun game. Mosta, on the other hand, lost to Marsaxlokk 2-5 and Birkirkara 1-3.

The Blues should have new Cameroonian central defender Yannick Ossok making his debut after Diego Maradona Petriaggi and Rudi Alhinho were released by the club. Balzan, on the other hand, will be lacking the suspended Pedro Dos Santos Calcado while Daniel Sibalin is no longer with the club after being released.

Meanwhile in the second game, Marsaxlokk take on Mqabba.

The Southseasiders hope to return to winning ways after losing to Hibernians in their last outing. In the first game, they had defeated Mosta.

Mqabba, on the other hand, eye their first positive result after two identical 0-2 defeats to Floriana and Sliema.

Marsaxlokk will be without the suspended Clive Brincat and Trevor Templeman.
