Sliema Wanderers have a difficult task in trying to end their negative run as they take on champions Valletta in the only game from the BOV Premier League on Friday at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

After collecting eleven points from the first five matches, the Blues disappointed in the next three games as they were held in a draw by Balzan Youths and lost to Hamrun Spartans and Mosta.

Sliema are now sixth, ten points behind leaders Hibernians and nine behind the Citizens.

Valletta, on the other hand, bounced back from the defeat to the Paolites with wins over Mqabba, Birkirkara and Floriana. Another win on Friday would put them temporarily on top the BOV Premier League table.

Ryan Fenech will be back for the Citizens after serving a three-match ban. Sliema may have Rumen Galabov back in squad but Henry Bonello and Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza are ruled out injured.
