Twelve matches from the U*BET FA Trophy second round will be played this weekend at five different venues.
At the Centenary Stadium on Saturday, Second Division side Mellieha takes on Melita while Lija Athletic face St. Andrews in a clash between two First Division sides.
At the Gozo Stadium, Xewkija Tigers host Mdina Knights. In the first round, Xewkija beat Swieqi United 5-0 while Mdina defeated G?arb Rangers 8-1.
In another match, Gozitan champions Sannat Lions face Gharghur. The Lions eliminated Third Division side Sirens 4-1 in the previous round.
At the Luxol Stadium, Gzira United take on Gozitan side SK Victoria Wanderers while San Gwann face Sta. Venera Lightnings in a clash between two Second Division sides. In the first round, SK Victoria Wanderers defeated another Gozitan side, St. Lawrence Spurs 2-0.
On Sunday, Division 1 side St. Patrick take on Marsaskala from Division 3 while Second Division side Attard face Vittoriosa Stars from the First Division.
At the Charles Abela Stadium, Luqa St. Andrew’s meet Zurrieq in a clash between two Second Division sides while Dingli Swallows from Division 1 take on Qrendi from Division 3. In the first round, Qrendi defeated Gozitan side G?ajnsielem 2-1.
The other two matches will be played at the Sannat Ground as Xaghra United host Third Division side Siggiewi and two Gozitan teams – Nadur Younsgters and Victoria Hotspurs – battle for a place in the third round of the competition. In the previous round, Xag?ra beat Kalkara 2-1 while Nadur defeated Kercem Ajax 1-0.
In these matches, extra-time will be played if necessary and if the result is still draw at the end of the 120 minutes, penalty kicks shall be taken in accordance with the Laws of the Game.
The remaining eight second round matches will be played on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 November.
The twelve Premier League clubs enter in the third round which will be played between Friday 16 and Sunday 18 December, joining the twenty teams which qualify from the second round.
