Birkirkara maintained a three-point lead over Mosta in the BOV Women’s First Division as both registered their seventh win on Tuesday.
The Stripes maintained their perfect record with a 2-0 win over Raiders (Luxol) and continue to share the top spot with Mosta, despite having a game in hand. Mosta, on the other hand, registered a most comfortable 14-0 win over Marsa. Hibernians, on the other hand, beat Pembroke Athleta 6-0.
Birkirkara and Mosta lead the way with 21 points, followed by Hibernians on 15, Pembroke 12, Gozo 6, Raiders (Luxol) 3 and Marsa 0.
In the BOV Women’s Second Division, Mgarr United moved five points clear as they beat Melita 2-0 while Zurrieq and Hamrun Spartans, who are joint-second, shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw. Tarxien Rainbows and St. Venera Yellow Blues stay three points behind them in fourth place after beating Naxxar Lions 4-0 and Santa Lucia 8-0 respectively.
Kirkop United follow in the sixth place thanks to a 5-0 win over Lija / Iklin.
Mgarr lead with 24 points, followed by Hamrun and Zurrieq on 19, Tarxien and St. Venera 16, Kirkop 12, Melita 11, Lija / Iklin 6, Santa Lucia 4, Naxxar 2 and Zejtun 1.
In the Under-16 Girls’ League, leaders Pembroke Athleta moved five points clear as they beat Zurrieq 7-0. Birkirkara beat Naxxar Lions 13-0 while Tarxien Rainbows defeated Lija / Iklin 6-1.
